PSHBT 45th Convention - Message from Philippine Pediatric Society

The PHILIPPINE PEDIATRIC SOCIETY congratulates the PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF HEMATOLOGY AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION on the occasion of its 45th Annual Convention

The chosen theme: " Bridging Gaps, Stretching Overlaps" is indeed appropriate to the intended topics of the convention. The Symposia are strategically aligned such that it will tackle each and every aspect of care of the patients with malignancies, bleeding and coagulation problems and even deal with hematologic emergencies and toxicities.

The Philippine Pediatric Society welcomes this type of academic endeavor that would level up the practice of pediatric medicine in the country today.

Congratulations to the PHILIPPINE SOCIETY OF HEMATOLOGY AND BLOOD TRANSFUSION for this job well done.

The efforts of the PSHBT to work towards the goal of advancing the field of hematology through one encompassing gathering, is truly admirable. The unity displayed by members of your organization speaks of how even in the most complex of issues in the global health milieu such as in the field of diagnostics, we can discover our respective niches and contribute significantly in creating effective, lasting solutions.

The Philippine Medical Association (PMA) is honored to be a part of your distinguished work, and as president, I urge you to continue harnessing, along with your knowledge and capabilities, your diligence and passion in building healing and comforting environs for your patients. As the umbrella organization of all medical organizations in the Philippines, the PMA shares your aspirations for the consummate Filipino medical professional who is equipped with not only the needed wisdom or skills to heal and ease the patient's pain, but also of a relentless yearning to push the boundaries of science and of oneself.

We commend the organizers of this scientific event for creating a venue where emphasis is on the importance of healthcare experts working together on a common goal of shaping the best practices in the treatment of hematologic diseases. Today is the era where disease management is undergoing rapid change and innovation, and your society partakes in creating the excellent healthcare environment for the Filipinos with blood- related maladies. We salute your society's dedication and commitment to be upfront on all these developments ... that's what Hematologists of today should be working for!

I commend your continued commitment to providing your members with the latest updates on topics relevant to your varied interests as an organization, particularly on current issues in Hematology and Blood Transfusion. Your focus on Clinical Correlation of Peripheral and Bone Marrow Smear bring to fore the need for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice among professionals in various fields who deal with blood and blood products, certainly with the ultimate aim of promoting patient safety. Moreover, I trust that such efforts redound to enhance and promote camaraderie among your ranks and with members. Carry on with your programs of attracting more members to be part of your organization. Remember to strengthen your organization from within even as you continue to hurdle challenges from outside.
